This project is a big one. It will require you to make a display (PowerPoint, book, poster, or otherwise but check with me) that profiles nine different microbes. The breakdown should be three viruses, three bacteria, and three protists. The idea behind this is that you are making a profile for them, like a myspace or facebook profile. You are giving them a personality based on facts about them.
There are a few examples on the website www.microbeworld.com . You may also find some useful information on this blog as well.
Again these are to use as starting off points and not to be copied. I am VERY familiar with each of these and will recognize if the work is not your own.

Taxonomy Poster Project
This project is a poster that specifies the entire classification (from Kingdom to species) for one organism. You must also describe why that organism has that name, what characteristics qualify it to have that name. Finally you need at least one picture of the organism. The easiest choices are animals or plants, but you are allowed to choose Bacteria, Fungi or Protists if you so choose.
This poster will be due on Monday, January 14th, 2007. The same date as the test over Taxonomy.
