DNA, RNA, Protein Project

Our first project of the nine weeks is now avalible. This project is a little difficult to put together, but it really allows for student choice. There is a copy of the rubric here. The student needs to first choose one of the five topics from the first list. This will be what the project is over. The next list is a list of the products they can choose to make. They only need to choose one product and one project. For instance, You can choose to make a children's book over translation. Or a Timeline of the events of transcription. If you have another product or topic that you think is appropriate run it by me and I'll think about it and let you know if it is OK.

Post any questions about the project here on this post and I will get back to you ASAP.

DNA Vocab Matrix

We are changing the way we do vocabulary in our class. Instead of making a vocab book the way you have been doing we are going to do a vocab matrix. These do not make you look up the words, but allow you to work with the words on your own terms more. These will be due with the chapter work on the day of the test as usual. However NO partial credit will be given you must complete all columns for a word for it to count.

The content map for this unit can be viewed here. Please complete the words for DNA (Vaccine-DNA Polymerase) on your matrix. They will be due in class tomorrow 3/20/08.

Please look at your first example here.

Thanks and keep up the hard work!

Week 12 Agenda

The link to this week's agenda is located below:
Week 12 Agenda

Info for the Next Semester

Right now every one is in a position where they can still pass. EVERYONE needs to be taking advantage of the re-take policy and making up their labs that they miss. Those two things account for 60 % of you nine weeks grade. Another thing to keep in mind is we are much closer to the EOCT! That one test, which I don't write, counts for 15% of your total grade. All that being said, no matter what your grade is right now the pressure is on you to take advantage and pass this class.

As a reminder we do make up tests any day of the week except Friday. We do Tutoring for re-takes on Tuesday and Thursday. and you can take re-takes on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. If you know you are coming please tell us so that we can prepare for you or make arrangements if we need to.

Keep working hard and let us know how we can help you succeed!
